Killer question though: how are you going to glaze it? ;)

Re: My New Quilt, Hijacked

Ha ha! Her sister was always on hand to "assist" with assembly - my attempts at organising the final layout of the blocks on the livingroom floor was constantly criticised by her active demonstrations of "no no no" and re-arranging them with the swipe of a paw, or an attempt at "creative destruction" (i.e. chewing).

When you're ready do do your first one, let me know, I'll point you in the direction of some very handy tools and suppliers.

Re: My New Quilt, Hijacked

I'm just surprised she waited until it was finished. Whenever I'm sewing anything, I usually have mid-action "helpers". :)

Anyway, thanks for blogging about this. I want to make my first quilt soon too and I'll definitely investigate cotton & bamboo batting now.

Re: NaNoWriMo 2012 – Who’s With Me?

I'm sitting down to do the "mapping" today, and tomorrow. I've got the framework for most of the "mini-episodes" mapped out for most of my storylines, and some sections composed in my head, but it's going to be much more of a challenge than last year. That's partly by design though - I'd like a bit more of a challenge and I think NaNoWriMo is the perfect way to try something a bit different.

Re: Amazing Sky

pretty rainbow

Re: Pad Painting – Creativity Via iPad

"Approve"

Re: Pad Painting – Creativity Via iPad

Now I wish I hadn't traded my iPad for a POS PC! I admit, I'm rather pleased with that part.

Re: The Pond In My Kitchen

This was great! Nice job! Apart from the sound levels, this was really slickly put together. I've often felt, when doing tedious tasks, that experimenting with camera angles would be a good idea - nice one for trying it out and succeeding.

And the pond looks great. Reminds me of the pond we had in my childhood home that my dad made.

Re: Paris Part I

he he he . . . . it's a whole new world! It's going to take me weeks to figure all this out - but that's a part of the fun.

Paris (and France generally) has grown on me over the past few years. So much so that I'm seriously considering a French course at the Institute Francais in Kensington. I bought a DIY learn French in Austria last summer - and its great, but the discipline and interaction with others in a class is, I think more efficient.

Re: Paris Part I

Ooh, check you out with your new domain!

Very nice. You'll find its one of those programs that will do your windows, your laundry, and put your clothes on for you if you let it (grin).

If its any help - Final Cut Express HD for Mac, by Lisa Brenneis (Peachpit ISBN 0321 350 26X) is a great resource. I particularly liked the backwards/forwards text. Neat touch.

I've just started playing with FCE... After only having used iMovie 6 it's kind of like going from Lego to building a skyscraper... But I will figure it out, slowly but surely.
